Why two thin blankets are warmer than one thick blanket?

Whenever you feel cold I will suggest you take 2 thin blankets instead of 1 thick blanket. But why??
Because 2 chocolates are always better than one, just joking:-):-)
To understand this we first need to know about bad conductors of heat.

Bad conductors of heat

Any object which resists the heat is called a bad conductor of heat. Air, wood, glass, etc all are said to be bad conductors of heat because they do not allow heat to pass through them.

Why this happens?

In a thick blanket, heat can easily escape through it not providing better warmness but when you take two blankets, air gets trapped between the layers of two blankets ,and acts as a bad conductor of heat and does not allow it to escape.

If you sleep with more than 2 blankets then it would be best but you will die under their weight:-):-)
